We can’t sing the praises of beef bone broth enough. The ingredient that pushes it over the top is always the beef marrow bones! 

Beef marrow bones are cross sections of the femurs of the steer. Each piece of bone is filled with bone marrow which becomes rich, buttery, and spreadable when roasted. In addition to being delicious, bone marrow is full of collagen which is a necessary nutrient for healthy bones, skin, and connective tissue. 

Beef marrow bones can be roasted and spread on toast or used as the base for rich bone broth. When roasting the bones as an appetizer, season them with salt, pepper, and herbs and roast at 400 F until the marrow is soft but not completely melted.

To make bone broth, roast the bones with other beef, pork or chicken bones at 500 F until browned and fragrant. Then place them in a pot, cover with water, and simmer for up to 24 hours. The marrow will add an extra creaminess to the finished broth that makes it good enough to drink straight!
